The iPhone & Wednesday Ramblings

It finally happened. I entered the iPhone world. And I admit it, I did it for a Lilly Pulitzer phone case.

Not wanting to spend a gajillion dollars on an iPhone when the new one comes out in less than a month, I went to Best Buy and got a refurbished iPhone 3GS for $18. Crazy right? So,while everyone is foaming at the mouth for the new iPhone 5, I am enjoying being a deb in the smartphone world. I had a Samsung Eternity touch-screen phone since my freshman year. It was a good phone to me. I drop my phone at least twice a day and it never died. I finally needed a new phone because it got a little screwy with the calibration of the touch screen, but that phone had been to hell and back several times and held up better than the Brave Little Toaster.

So my essentials for iPhone ownership (whether you have a 3G, 3GS, 4, or 5)....

1. Lilly Pulitzer "Nice to See You" iPhone 3GS case from Amazon.com
      - Its important to note most of belles have noted that the edges peel but right after I received it I coated the edges in Essie No Chip clear polish and have not had any problems.

2. Zagg Scratch-proof Screen Protector
     - 100% scratch proof because they use the stuff that they make helicopter blades from and its crazy awesome! I am so accident prone and this is a great product to prevent that.

3. FM transmitter that charges the phone too
    - I am a little ghetto as far as car stereos go. I dont have an audio output, CD player, or functioning tape-player. I don't plan on having the car much longer so I haven't replaced it. So this is great! One with a digital display.

On another note, we met the the VP of Student Life and Development about Theta Pi and he not only liked our proposal, he wants to give us and house and use us to set up a system for other greek organizations to go through to establish themselves. He did say, we have to go through several tough meetings with faculty and the executive board and such. But we are ready ande excited. Going national to our other AG/Christian universities and colleges was also discussed.

Beaus left and right this week have been appreciating my love for football and I can't wait to watch the Auburn game this weekend with all my southern gent South Carolina Fans.

Happy Wednesday y'all!

Shopping for Vintage Srat Stuff

So I am a Pi Phi legacy (my mom) and a Gamma Phi (my grandma), and lately I have become an online shopper. So while trying to think of some good gifts for my mom, I stumbled upon a whole world of vintage sorority stuff. Here are some of the best things I found for Pi Phi's and Gamma Phi's.

1932 Pi Phi Arrow Pin

1938 Pi Phi Cookbook

1924 Picture of First Lady (Mrs. Coolidge) and Pi Phi's

1948 Gamma Phi Pin

1924 Gamma Phi Sheet Music

I just watched Auburn lose to Clemson for the first time since 1950-something. On the plus side, I did some great Auburn shopping while I watched it. I'm sad. and my stomach hurts from 3 1/2 hours of stress. But a nice southern Beau did tell me it was nice to see a girl who knows southern football.

Happy Weekend!

Fill in The Blanks... & Ignore The Homework

I borrowed this from a great belle that I follow (and you should too).

1.   I am a (morning, evening, middle of the day person)  morning person. Buuuuut, I have to get up. Once I am up, I am so productive and if I get up in the early morning , I am in a great mood all day.

2.  My favorite Pandora stations are ... Hillsong (whenever I am in my room or if I need something to play while I fall asleep), Muse/Radiohead (for those quiet afternoons especially when it rains), He Is We (all the time), and upon occassion the James Taylor station too.

3.  3 of my "must-have" songs for a road trip playlist are . . . This really depends on who is with me and where I am going. If I am driving to the beach (and going to school in Florida, that is often) I love fun He is We, Plug In Stero, NeverShoutNever, and bands like that. If I am driving home to see the family , I play a lot of worship stuff because its a long drive to do alone and so I spend some quality time with by Best Friend.

4.  My favorite pattern is Floaters from Lilly. She is moving on to new prints but I still love love love this pattern

5.  My favorite perfume is   Sexy Little Things from VS and (Lord Help Me) Juicy Couture.

6.  Rules are the fabric of our lives. Society has lost the standards set by basic rules of engagement and society. So I know I am in good company when the rules of decorum are followed. Thank the Lord I am from the South.

7.  My most overused phrase or punctuation is "Oh Geez!" "Don't even get me started on the things I don't understand" (which is a quote from Sweet Home Alabama)... and a few other things that I can't think of at the moment but I am sure I say.

I am supposed to be doing homework which is why I am not at "Ugly Prom" with the rest of the Athletic Department (I made the Collegite DII Competition cheer squad here, if I forgot to mention that) where we wear the most hideous outfits we can find and then go to a roller-skating rink. So I am going to throw on my hideous dress and meet up with the Squad at Applebees and laugh at the drunk middle aged women doing Karaoke... just as soon as I get a paper done.

Another great blog you should follow is written by the Lady of one of my Best Friends (since 8th grade).  She is doing a great giveaway that I would enter if I were you ( I already did!).

Its here! Footballl Season 2011!

Its here. Its finally here! I've been waiting all summer for this week.
FOOTBALL SEASON!

Now, I attend a small-ish private college that is on the road to a football team. Its being discussed in planning sessions and has been expressed as a desire of a lot of people. But my heart belongs to Auburn. I wanted to go to Auburn, but my father vehemently opposed a big state school. I am a big fan, afterall I am a cheerleader, so I love being passionate about my team. On that note, AU changed their cheer uniforms this year and I LOVE them!

I get so much nonsense from everyone, even a prof the other day, about how Auburn has 2 mascots, we TP our own school, ect. and My response is often that a) "We just have a better history than _________" or b) "I'm sorry. Who is the reigning national champ? Oh, Yeah, That's us." Tradition means so much in the South and Auburn's traditions and history are the best in the SEC!

Football season in the south brings so many great things... here is a look at my game day picks for fabulous outfits and maybe a tailgating recipe or two that I love as well.

Ok, I can't wait to have a little belle to wear cute game day things like this dress!
